What is your favorite part about writing a book? Do you like it when books get turned into movies, and would you like any of your books to be turned into movies? How do you decide what you keep in a book and what you take out, or does an editor decide that all for you? Thank you for answering my questions (I hope)!

Our homeschool book club is reading The Rickshaw Girl soon. We always include food at these meetings. Are there any specific dishes from Bangladesh that you feel represent the culture best, or do you have a favorite dish you think the kids would love?

Hope in the Valley has become one of my favorite children's books because it has two of my favorite things-- an intergenerational relationship and poetry. What was her inspiration for writing it?
